Part two; What does lossy cables cost to manufacture?

Posted on:

For this next part you’ll have to forgive any facetious writing. Cheap cable Manufacturer is highly efficient, from years of perfecting it’s method. Offering many satisfactory uses. In my experience, Audio just isn’t one of them.
lets use speaker wire as our example.

If you want to put a name on a cable it’s pretty easy. You call china, request a color. Most of it’s already premade. they put a name on it and ship it out. That’s it! There’s no research and development. There’s no genuine time or analysis of what is being purchased. That cable can be made with two passes through a machine. The grade of copper is the lowest at roughly $60 bucks for 10 pounds. It’s not uncommon for the copper to be brownish and deformed from day one. low-grade PVC insulation is around $.10-$.20 a foot. it’s not uncommon for traces of lead to be found in and on the jacket. A machine or peasant labor can quickly strip and terminate cheap banana plugs. Of which only possess 28% conductivity. Done!

Next,,run out and tell the world it’s as good as it gets!😂sorry… Base cost about $.26ft add foreign shipping to raise cost to maybe 0.36 cents a foot. If you double or triple it for profit, between $0.72-$1.08 So the profit ratios are excellent! But the final conclusion is an endless financial journey of wanting better sound but never to obtain or should say retain the root source.

For part three we will dissect midgrade options. Until next time enjoy this beautiful sound and weather! Circumstantially speaking of course😉
